A&K Chief

A&K Chief is a bull that we are holding out of our upcoming production sale with plans to use him extensively in our herd. His dam Basin Lass 772L has been a phenomenal female. She has more active female progeny in our herd than any other cow on the place. She is going on eleven years old and is still in excellent condition. Chief’s sire Basin Future Direction 7054 was a herd bull that we were only able to use for a short time due to an unfortunate career ending breeding injury, and later being confirmed as a carrier of AM (Curly Calf Syndrome). 7054’s daughters have been exceptional highly productive females. We have been trying for the last three years to acquire this genetic combination and so we are elated to finally have this genetic opportunity with Chief. He was determined by testing to be free of AM (Curly Calf Syndrome), and will be added to our bull battery. We plan to collect him in March and hope to have semen available for sale at that time.
